I am not recommending Adealio. I mean, sure. Sign up if you want. But the weird thing is, the sign up method goes completely contrary to the ethical things I do that well...make me one of the top referrers in the country on 3 of the 5 sites I refer people to.

What sort of deals does Adealio offer? You have no idea. Know why? Because they haven't launched *anywhere* yet. Browse around their site. Pick another city. Any of 'em. This is entirely a viral marketing thing that's based on the *concept*, and not on any actual set of deals. You have no idea what they're offering. Hey, *they* might have no idea what they're offering.

Though I might seem spammy with my offers, I really only do three things:

1. Things my friends in general will find neat, offered in general in my journal (only if I know there'll be over 3 people interested).
2. Things very specifically offered in the Davis Square LJ for things that are from Porter (sometimes Union) up to Menotomy, and Mass Ave. Over to Ball/Powderhouse.
3. Things very specifically sent to people who I know will like them (yesterday I sent [profile] henman, who does walking tours and beer festivals, a link to a Toronto walking tour called 'Beer Makes History Better'; I IMed [profile] wayward_va about a DC-area wine festival with discount tickets, etc. I tell [personal profile] trowa_barton when popcorn is offered ;-) )

Except for the very targeted things for my friends that I offer privately, I *never* push anything I'm not buying.

In addition, the deal is not for credit right now; you aren't getting $10 to spend when I send up (someone who posted a few minutes ago said they were, and that is incorrect). You are simply calling dibs on credit, when your friend buys something from the site. Until then, all that's happened is you've gotten your friend to sign up for commercial email.

(I will note I *did* sign up through a link, because I wanted to check out their policies and procedures, and it seems likely that eventually, I will buy something there, so unemployed friend might as well benefit. But then, I've earned over $1000 in groupon credit, $200 at living social (and about $200 in free deals there), and over $150 at coupme. I practically do this as a part time job, and it's part of that work to keep on top of these things)

So in the end; I don't know what they're offering, I don't know what they'll do with the addresses, I haven't dealt with them as a company to know how they deal with their purchasers; I can't vouch for them.

And neither can anyone else who is pushing the referrals. So be careful. When they offer deals that I like and I buy, I assure you, I'll tell you :-)
